CIPE - International Center for Research
The new 4.000 m² headquarters of the International Center for Research at A.C.Camargo Cancer Center, known as CIPE (Centro Internacional de Pesquisa), reinforces the institution's commitment to the integration of healthcare, teaching and research by stimulating the interaction between physicians and scientists.
Located in a building named after Prof. Dr. Ricardo Renzo Brentani, CIPE-A.C.Camargo features an infrastructure comparable to the world's foremost international cancer research centers. The graduate students, physicians and scientists who work at the new center engage in research in the areas of cell/molecular biology, genetics and genomics of cancer.
The Hospital's dedication to research dates back to the early 1980s, through a partnership with the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, at that time headed by scientist Ricardo Renzo Brentani. Since 2007, the Hospital has been running its own research center, culminating in July 2010 with the inauguration of the International Center for Research (CIPE-A.C.Camargo).
The structure of CIPE-A.C.Camargo is comprised of laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment and research groups that develop cutting-edge scientific projects integrated with the hospital's medical Laboratory Personnel.
